no antivirus is being installed on my computer

every time i try to install an antivirus on my computer it fails. i tried re-installing avast it failed so i then tried to install AVG that also failed. please tell me how i can fix this problem?

Try running Housecall by TrendMicro:
http://housecall.trendmicro.com/

It's a manual virus/malware scanner.

Are you sure you aren't already infected and it's preventing you from installing? Try booting from a live linux cd that contains a virus scanner and have it scan your hard drive.

Also, avast may have remnants from a previous install or possibly a corrupt install. Download the avast uninstall tool and run it. Afterwards, see if you can reinstall avast.

Your Internet Connection might be failing or your antivirus CD-ROM might be distorted, Scratched or dirty, Please reformat and reinstall Windows to solve the problem.

While the two issues may be possibilities, neither of those would be fixed by reinstalling Windows.
