I am going to be purchasing a new system within the next week, with the intent on being for gaming. Budget varies, but I was hoping for around under 1,300. I also am a student, which i would need a laptop for (which I currently have neither), so I was wanting to get your opinions on wether to build maybe a mini tax/itx building a computer and just playing a netbook or another laptop with the ability to run games on low. Or buying an msi apache or something of that sort. What do you guys suggest?
Mobile gaming is some-what important, though if I build a mini it wouldn't be a hassle.
Also, I'm looking to buy the gtx 770 4gig. Any suggestions on other hardware?

Building a rig is the cheapest way to go.

Thank you so much! I've never assembled a system before should I do it myself or take it to somewhere to be assembled.
Would you suggest going for the gtx 780 instead or another gpu? Mostly, I will be playing games like Wildstar, Battlefield, but I would love for the system to sustain plus the ability to upgrade convinces me that I should just buy a separate laptop for school.

Buying a laptop is a very good choice. Me and my friends have our $400 pre built lap tops and then we have our custom desktop PC's. For the GTx 770 I would suggest the Gigabyte WINDFORCE 4GB since it is the best GTX 770 there is. (Not opinion. Fact.) It may cost a little more but if you have the money I would recommend it.

I need the laptop mostly for school, because most my friends have desktops so together we all have room, yet I' still like to be able to run wildstar on low on it. I figured desktop wins because I can continually upgrade.

Yes I agree.. I was also thinking about getting the GTX 780 but after thorough research I discovered that it would not be worth the extra money since I would only be gaming on two 1080p screens. Definitely get the 4GB card though, it will future proof your system even more.

Well since we sound like twins almost, take a look at my build. Its a little more expensive but you can use it for some ideas.
http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/Fwsw7P
Note that the pricing is in canadian. So it will most likely be cheaper in 'Merica.

I would be only using two screens as well, so my best bet then would be get the 770 4gb and that should tide me over for a GOOD while.

Hmmmm, I'm going to message you because I may use the exact build. Different case and etc but yeah most of those parts I've seen cheaper.

pcpartpicker.com is the website most of us use and it will show if all parts are compatible. It also will give you the recommended wattage for a PSU. You can pick your parts on that website and then there is a little link at the top left corner of the box with all of the parts. Copy the link and then share it with us so we can go over it too.

The turbo only kicks in for overclocking correct?
