Hi,

I got a temp Dynex 520w psu for 3 days, until I get my CM 1000w. Do you think I can play some games without it exploding? I know its a cheap PSU, but I was just wondering if I can play a few games. Here are my specs:

i7 4770
GTX 780
Z87-G43
Corsair Vengeance 16GB

Thanks :)

Product Features: And it can't even live up to these specs , the power supply shouldn't be used to power up a computer of any type.

Running this power supply puts your components at risk , wait till you get your other supply.

It's the BEST BUY house brand , which is super cheap.

yes you will be able to get away with 520w...infact its not even all that less, the system should run fine......and btw, unless you plan on putting in another gpu for sli i dont think you need a 1000w power supply, even for sli configurations 850w will suffice

EDIT: i would actually recommend not using it since it is quite cheap in quality, the current fluctuations will be alot more significant and could cause harm to the system, then again you should probably be fine with it...its still better to wait, your choice

I wouldn't run a 780 on a POS PSU....sorry 'Dynex' PSU.

I can't even find details about its power capabilities anywhere online, but what i can tell you is this - it is the bottom of the barrel PSU, its not going to be remotely efficient(likely ~70%), you aren't going to have more than 350W on the 12V rail they aren't going to have sprung for that level of parts. Odds are if you boot into a game on that PSU you will learn what magic smoke smells like.
