New Card, same FPS?

Hi guys, I upgraded from an AMD 7950 to a GTX 780ti, and I'm getting the same FPS (if not, slightly worse) in Skyrim and DayZ. Having said that, I can run The Forest max settings 60fps when I couldn't on my old card, even on medium/high.

I fear there may be a fault in my machine. Would you guys be able to offer me any advice?

Specs:
EVGA GTX 780ti 3GB SC
i5 2550k 4.1GHz
8GB DDR3
Gigabyte Z68MA-D2H-B3 Mobo
Alpine 750W Quiet Silent PC Power Supply

Now I'm aware Skyrim & DayZ are CPU-heavy games, but to get lesser performance than usual - how is that possible? Currently re-downloading Battlefield 4, I hope that runs well.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.

I agree, download the latest Nvidia driver for your card. Save it to your desktop.
Go to "uninstall a program" and remove every Radeon and ATI graphics thing you can find.
(reboot when necessary)
Next, go into device manager and under display adapters right click your card(s).
Select uninstall, AND CHECK THE BOX to remove those drivers as well.
(reboot when necessary)
run the Nvidia drivers you saved to your desktop. choose custom install and check the box for a clean install.
Should now be better than you were before........
