Just recently my computer has started to have this problem with multiple games.

So I load up let's say Starcraft II, then join a game as soon as the game starts, black screen and fan starts roaring like a tornado. Temps look fine, tried a different graphics card. Tried system restore. Nothing seems to be working.

Any ideas for a solution?

OS: Windows 8
MoBo: MSI Z87-G45
PSU: Corsair AX860
GPU: Nvidia GTX 780
CPU: i5 4670k (no overclock)
RAM: 16GB 1866mhz
HDD: 2 SSD drives and 1 Mechanical drive

Solution
Before starting up the game, please give your CPU and MEMORY usage details.
You can use the taskmanager for this.
Also scan the affected games' exe(s) with a good antivirus.

I think I fixed it, it seems my modular power supply's cable for the pcie power was messed up.
I pulled it out and the plastic molding around the pins broke off, I used the spare cable and put it into another slot and haven't had problems since. Really weird. Corsair really needs to make the modular connections less stiff and better quality.
