Hello Tom's Hardware.

Recently I purchased the Razer Tiamat 7.1 headset. The headset requires that you have a 7.1 compatible sound card to use it.

Here's the soundcard that i'm looking to buy: http://www.amazon.com/Creative-SB0880-Express-Blaster-Titanium/dp/B001E25KDK

Here are my questions:
-How does the sound card get powered?
-How does it connect to my motherboard? (Here's my motherboard: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3858040)
-How can I be sure that the Razer Tiamat 7.1 actually works with this card?

I know I'm asking a lot of questions, and I thank everyone who takes the time to answer and help me out.

Again thanks for the help

-Nick

It gets powered through the motherboard.

Connects to the motherboard in one of the two smaller dark blue connectors on the left side of the board (the PCIe x1 slots: http://images.highspeedbackbone.net/SkuImages/gallery/large/A455-9701_vcall02_jmp_gl_3858040.jpg)

Can't actually know if the headset will work until you actually use it. It'll most likely work, though.
