Hey guys, I'm reposting this thread due to almost no responses to it..Please help me :(

My system freezes when i play any game for a while..say 5-6 mins approx...when the freeze happens, the keyboard and mouse lights go off and they stop working, there is a very terrible static noise sound in the speakers/headphones like the static noise in old CRT TVs as they are being tuned..If i dont manually force shutdown the PC by the power button, it stays like that for a while and then shuts off itself..after that it gets stuck in a restart loop..it turns on for 2-3 seconds and even before anything appears on the display, it shuts off..again it turn on after 1-2 seconds and then again shuts off quickly..this happens around 10-15 times..no fixed number..then it finally boots up after this has happened a lot of times, and again if i play any game, it happens..earlier it was only happening with heavy games like bf3, bf4, call of duty ghosts, bioshock infinite, etc. It didnt used to happen with FIFA 14 until 2-3 days back when after 2-3 hrs of continuous gameplay, the same problem occurred.. and now, it happens very quickly in FIFA too like it did in those heavy games.. I have this PC since more than an year and never faced any such issue before with any of the games until one day when i decided to clean up my cabinet from inside..i was just brushing off dust like i always do once in 2-3 weeks..since then, this problem started happening all off a sudden..

I've got my motherboard, GPU, PSU, and both RAM sticks replaced under RMA one by one.. PSU came brand new..I had given the processor for RMA as well but intel sent it back as it is saying that it isnt faulty.. ive also tried applying a better thermal paste- Deepcool z9 in case if it was over heating..but still the problem remains..i have the stock intel cooler and its plastic body is cracked from two parts but its still working..I observed these cracks after it came from the service center.. My PC is just about 16 month old and iI didnt face any such issue with games running maxed out an year ago.. I also tried running memtest86+ and scanned my HDD for bad sectors using Seatools by Seagate and also with the 'chkdsk' command in command prompt. But the results found no errors anywhere. Also, I've monitored the CPU and GPU temps with many utilities- hiwinfo64, hardware monitor, MSI afterburner, and the CPU temps on idle are around 41-52 degrees and on load (WHILE GAMING) are 65-66 degrees celsius. GPU temps are also similar..on load they dont go beyond 66 degrees celsius. Im just insanely clueless..My specs are these:

CPU- Intel Core i3 3220 3.3 GHz
Motherboard- Gigabyte GA-B75M-D3H
GPU- Gigabyte Geforce GTX 660 2GB OC GDDR5
PSU- Corsair CX500 (500 Watts)
RAM- 2x4GB GSkill RipjawsX DDR3 1600MHz = 8GB TOTAL
HDD- Seagate Barracuda 500GB
OS- WIndows 8.1 64-bit

A few weeks ago I was running windows 8 64 bit and was having the same problem.. I even tried installing windows 7 64 bit..but the problem was same with that too..

I've purchased a Cooler Master TX3 EVO cooler and the temps are better than before now, around 52 degrees C at load and 38-40 degrees on idle..

PLEASE HELP ME !!!!!! :'( I'M SICK OF THIS PROBLEM SINCE 2 MONTHS !!!! :'(

Yea not sure, I mean you've replaced just about everything, something is still causing it so i'd look at things that haven't been replaced yet. Perhaps mouse or keyboard, might even be power leads too.

Could try removing the front case usb header wire from the motherboard, see if that helps.

Hmmm tricky problem. Only thing i can suggest that sounds like hasn't been looked at yet for possible problems is the case. Like if you have front usb ports you use often, check make sure no pins are bent inside causing a short. Check the condition of the wiring for anything else used by the case.

thanx for the reply man.. i am unable to see an bent pins like this in the front panel..I use a wifi dongle in one of the ports at the back, i use a USB hub, a logitech keyboard and a mouse, all of them are connected at the back..in front i use only external hard disks n pen drives mostly..so..can it somehow be keyboard or mouse ? because ive tried removing the usb hub and wifi dongle and checked..

I might also add that if the case is the suspected source of the sudden reboots, you can remove your MB and lay out the internal parts of your pc on top of a clean slab of cardboard (non-conducting surface). Boot the pc like that and see if resets occur.

Alright seems it has nothing to do with anything shorting out.

Try setting your memory management to XMP in the bios if you haven't already and see if this helps. Read up on Intel's XMP profile if your not sure what it is.

Could be the hdd also causing restarts. How fresh is your operating install?

A friend of mine was having restarts after upgrading video card and memory but later on found out it was Windows8 and problems with some hdd driver. I asked if he was using Intel's sata port, no he was using Marvell's and driver was glitchy.

Not sure if your motherboard has both, looks like its only has Intel sata ports. Double check manual and use Intel and update driver too if you can.

Umm ok i have set Profile1 in Extreme Memory Profile (X.M.P.) as shown in the BIOS.. i dont know what it is but im gonna try it..

By fresh operating install u mean to say when did i last install my OS again.. ? umm it was last week definitely with a full format of the hard disk (deleting all partitions).. since the time ive bought this pc i have been using win 8 64 bit.. since the very start.. never seemed to face any driver issues earlier.. this problem started in win 8 only and remained as it is after updating to win 8.1...

Umm which drivers are you talking about? can you please provide me a link ? it will be of great help really.. and how to check if i am using SATA ports or Marvell ?

i would also like to add that i was just defragmenting the hard disk today..'C partition'... first time i dont know if it completed successfully or not.. but the second time, the system froze and got stuck in those restart loops just like when playing any game... can this tell anything .. ?

The problem with the sata port i was talking about was also in Win8.1 need to look in the manual to see whats what. Intel Sata are blue and Marvell are usually black. Doesn't look like you have Marvell but check your manual to be sure. Usually the lowest numbered ports are Intel as they are priority.

Download the two chipset drivers.

Your motherboard should have come with a driver disk, did you install the drivers from that?

If they are BLUE then thats what im using surely.. and no i didnt use the driver disk provided with the motherboard because it said that it only supports operating systems up to win 7.. win 8 installed the drivers itself.. i just installed the gpu drivers from the net.. ok i will try these drivers..

what about the SATA RAID/AHCI drivers on that page?

Thats for a raid setup of multiple hdds, no need to worry about that.

Ok.. so im downloading the chipset drivers.. also.. I just went into device manager and saw an exclamation mark over Other devices> PCI SImple Communications Controller. it says that "The drivers for this device are not installed. (code 28). there are no compatible drivers for this device. To find a driver for this device, click Update Driver".

Is this of any concern ?

Gonna go to sleep soon its 2:30am here ;D

The Intel inf should fix that, looking here

http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1334360

Is an INF useful?
If a chipset is released well after an operating system, the INF allows the operating system to identify all the pieces of the chipset. Intel and Microsoft* work together to include information on both current and future chipsets in new operating systems so, in many cases, the operating system will recognize all the pieces of the chipset even without the INF.

Honestly, if you had Windows7, most likely you wouldn't have these problems since the motherboard was meant for it. But we'll see how we go now after you install those two drivers.

That's not a big deal. The problem is that your hard drive is not getting enough power. It may be because you have used a "Molex to SATA" converter to power your hard drive instead of plugging it directly using the sata connector coming from the power supply.I suggest you to to use the sata connector as the power source of your hard drive and all will be fine. BEST OF LUCK! also (sorry for bad english)
