I didn't see a forum section for like security or anything, so I figured I'd post here.
Is it safe to copy paste passwords? For some reason, I'm thinking some websites can access what I have in paste/clipboard, correct?

I clear my web history (temp files, clear cookies, saved passwords, and web information etc etc) in Internet Options (under the general tab>delete) between basically every website like second nature, and this makes whatever I had in paste deleted, but still not sure. I'm also in the habit of copying something random after I paste the password so I don't accidentally paste my password and as an extra step to prevent a site reading my paste if it's not too late.

Also, if a site were running some sort of malware/script/hack etc, is it bad for me to have a text document open which has my passwords listed?

I also store passwords in my IE favs.

And lastly, I'm %99 sure I have all my workgroup/home group sharing disabled, but for some reason I think that having things stored on my desktop are easier to accidentally share on the network than putting them somewhere else like in C drive. Does that make sense?

thank you.

you should be careful with keylog, this is a virus hiding in your system and you cannot find it, it can record your keyboard buttons and it will be sent to the person who sent the keylog and you can easily lose your account. The keylog is popular in my country: vietnam, some java online game contain keylog then who play the java online game with keylog will lose the account, also they put activation message and you will lose your money in your SIM carrier. after send the activation message, it keep ask you to send again. so you must be careful when you play vietnamese java game. also, there is several way to trick keylog: for example, your password is abcdefg, you type abefg, then move your mouse between b and e, type cd. so the keylog shoul be abefgcd, you cannot lose your account

I never hit 'remember password', because as noted, i delete everything in internet options history between every website anyway, so it would delete the cookie. I even run spy bot and windows defender before logging into anything after I've been in sort of deep corners of the internet. I'm not sure what they are but they might pertain to cookies event though I already deleted them, but spybot always finds some 'very minor threat' stuff that I fix before logging into anything again.

So, there's nothing to worry about with copy pasting passwords or having a document open with my passwords while logged into sites? I know there could be key logger viruses, but I'm thinking a site reading my paste might be possible without even a virus, and for some reason, I'm thinking the same for having a document open with my passwords listed in it while logged into/visiting a site, and that a site can more easily read my IE favs.

Maybe I should make a separate document for each password to be extra safe?
