Hi All,

I have connected my 42" Toshiba Regza to different PC's and Laptops in the past with no problems whatsoever, I have now connected it to an old pc with a 512MB Point Of View G210 Geforce Pci Express Graphics Card.

The problem is that when I connected my 42" tv via hdmi to this PC it appears on the PC as a 47" and all the OS menus are not visible.

I have tried it with Windows 7 and Ubuntu Linux to see if I would get a different outcome however the problem persists on both OS's.

I would appreciate some help because I am tearing my hear out ;-)

Thanks in advance

Hi there,
Seems to me like you have set your resolution a little too high.
On windows follow this:
Go into "control panel"
then select "Appearance and personalisation"
Then under "Display" select "Adjust screen resolution"
Select your tv then on the drop down box for "Resolution"
Try putting it down on at a time until the screen fits.
Hope this helps!

In the resolution box it does not offer any more than 1600 x 1200 & 1920 x 1080.

I am getting a BIOS error MEBx Execution, could this have anything to do with it?

You probably need to go into the TV menu's and set it to "scan as is" in the scaling options of the TV, and you may also need to go into the control panel of your video card, and adjust the scaling to 0. HDMI hook ups usually have scaling as default, and even on monitors there is often scaling set by default due to HDMI being more of a TV interface.
