Does the R9 295x2 need structural support on the board?

I just finished building the rest of my new computer and my last step is to buy the graphics card. I am planning on getting an R9 295x2. I currently game in 1440p, but I know that I will be upgrading to 4k within a year or 2 and don't want to have to replace cards down the line.

My main questions is as follows: Is this card too heavy for a vertically-oriented tower? All of the reviews on this card exclaim about its immense weight, but they also all use test builds that are laying flat. I want to stand my PC up so that my H110 and the rad in this card are properly oriented.

Will the card put too much stress on the board, my PCIe slot, or its own connector?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi AleQQ
you should be fine as long as the cards are properly secured in the case as this will take the bulk of the weight
If you are worried about this i can suggest a great case for you ,
The coolermaster HAFXB evo
it will take both these cards virtically and the cooling direct into the cards is awesome

Thanks for the reply. I looked at that case, but I ended up going with a Corsair 760T (I love the looks and cable management was a dream).

I suppose I will throw the card in there and if I'm really having issues with structural stability I can MacGyver a solution together.

Thanks again!
