You better buy an H97 board because you will waste the Z97 OC capability.Getting a single stick 8gb is better so it will leave you room to upgrade to 16gigs of ram but get the same model of ram to prevent speed issues.Getting a CM Hyper 212 EVO cpu cooler should lessen the price whilst maintaning good cooling.Your other parts are good to go!

MSI is good but if you want a more badass mobo with Extreme OC capability, but ASUS ROG boards.

Your build looks pretty good, just check if that PSU is enough for your CPU and GPU. Out from that, there's nothing wrong.

Thanks guys, just quick questions,
Should I change the motherboard to h97 one?
and I heard that R9 280 having some issues in screen tearing / flickering is this true?

Thanks again for helping me. :)

If you won't OC in the future, you should buy an h97.If you want to future proof and wait for broadwell processors, get the z97.

Yes:
Get a h97 mobo as ur not overclocking...

The r9 280 has that problem but AMD released new drivers so i cannot assure you...
Get r9 290 its an ULTIMATE budget card and is close to gtx 780...

choosing between these 3 mobos:
Asrock H97-Killer
ASUS H97-Plus
MSI H97-Gaming3

for the video card, I think I might get gtx 770
Searched the internet if the issue in r9 280x is resolved, but no luck in finding it. :(

I would change the GPU to an EVGA or Asus. These brands are better. If you want shorter load times on games, get a WD Black drive.

is Palit not a good brand of video cards? and I'm thinking of getting a 4GB model for running mods in skyrim.

I'm not saying Palit is not that bad but an EVGA,Asus or MSI card is much better.
