Hello, recently I have changed my monitor to a Lenovo LI2221swA and, ever since then, all of the games I play have been extremely laggy to the point where they are unplayable. I have a NVIDIA GeForce GT 545 that played most games perfectly fine until now.

Any response would be appreciated.

I am by no means even above average on video. With that said the only thing that comes to my limited knowledge is V-sync. I hope that I'm not wasting your time. If you can play around with the options to turn it on/off it might help.

This monitor's resolution is 1920x1080, your previous monitor was probably 1280x720 or even lower. This alone means 2.25x more pixels need to be rendered.

The GT 545 is an entry level card, playing video games at 1920x1080 would appear to be too taxing for it.

Two options, One is to buy a new video card (GTX 750 or GTX 750 Ti) or two simply set your games to run at 1280x720, both resolutions are a 16:9 aspect ratio so there shouldn't be any distortions, but there will be a quality loss.

I tried setting the resolution to 1280x720 on Banished, but it still seems to be unplayable. I was able to play games fine on 1920x1080 before I switched to this monitor.

Also I found out that, for some reason, Tropico 5 works fine, if not better than before I switched monitors. The settings are all the same.
