I ordered a Evga GTX 780 FTW on friday afternoon.
I did as much research and asked as many questions as i could about it.
anyway did i make the right choice going with the FTW edition?
or should i have went with the superclocked?
they were both the same price but the FTW has a faster factory clock and a dual bios?
other than that they are identical, i think?
as usual i am questioning my purchase spending $525! LOL.
I can still change my order so if i made the wrong decision all is not lost?.

Solution

yes that is true, and it might affect the overclocking abilities of the cards, but the difference is not significant...trust me.....both the FTW and superclocked are great cards...personally speaking i would go with the superclocked over the FTW (or the classified if they were the same price)......since the hierarchy in terms of how many people like the cards goes like this...
1.EVGA classified
2.EVGA superclocked
3. EVGA FTW
...but your...

honestly not alot of difference between these two cards...the FTW cards supposedly have slightly better cooling but not enough to really make a significant difference...your choice is fine as it is :)

I read that the FTW and CLASSIFIED have cherry picked cores? where the SC does not?

...but your not missing much...if you intend to go with the classified, it will give you massive headroom for some extreme overclocking otherwise i would say go with the superclocked...your not missing much though, for gaming honestly speaking any aftermarket card does the job, its only if you're an extreme overclocker where you want the absolute best

EDIT: i wouldnt bother though, just stick with the FTW, if you do intend on changing, go with the classified (if its the same price)

I would consider myself a very interested OC'er.
would definitely like to get more into than i am at this moment. I have dabbled with it on a 760 but that's all.
Wanted a card that had the potential to be the better OC'er if you know what i mean?
