So as I was "studying" in upgrading my GPU I read that there are different types of Generations in PCIE slots. So I have a PCIE Slot that is Gen. 2, and I would like to upgrade to a GTX 760 and have a Corsair cx500 as my PSU. Does anybody know which GTX 760 GPU is backwards compatible, as most new GPUs are Gen. 3.

All PCIE 3.0 cards are backwards compatible to PCIE 2.0. The only difference will be a small drop in performance, as cards don't usually use all of the bandwidth of PCIE 3.0.

Yes, they are backwards compatible and you will not notice any performance difference between gen 2 and gen 3 unless you are running multiple GPUs. Now, I would state that you might be risking it with that CX PSU. They are budget build Corsair models and are not of the same quality parts as their HX/TX counterpart models.
