After shoveling tons of rocks and doing other yardwork, my step dad agreed to buy me the Cooler I mentioned in the thread title. I want to change from the stock cooling I've been using since I bought my computer, to get better temperatures but mostly to overclock a bit. How high of an overclock should I expect in an NZXT Source 210 case with no extra fans, on the Gigabyte GA-970A-D3P motherboard? I want to at least get over 4GHz, above 4.5 if possible.

every cpu has different potential so with your hardware we are taking about moderate o/c at least. i wouldnt push too far though on both cpu and gpu cause cx500 isnt that quality of a psu to be running close to the edge.

Almost any modern unlocked chip will do 4GHz without any special tweaking - most of them will do that with the stock cooler.

With a 212EVO, 4.3-4.4GHz should be achievable with just about any chip with little to no effort. Going beyond that with AMD's chips may require a substantial amount of extra power and something beefier than a 212 to match.
