Hey, I'm building a gaming pc for plying games that are exclusive for pc as I have a ps3. The games I plan on playing over 60 fps are LoL and AoE, nothing heavy duty. After two days of research I have concluded that I'll will use the over clocked AMD 750k as the processor. I chosen this processor because its really efficient for the price as I am not running any demanding games.

Do you think the 750k is a good choice, for light duty gaming?

After spending a lengthy amount of time comparing CPU's I have absolutely no guidance on how to select a motherboard. Does a mother board affect how much usb slots you can use etc. and if so will I have to find a case that matches the amount of usb slots.

Can you recommend a motherboard for my 750k, based on what i'm using for.

Thanks alot, Appreciate it.

That processor will suffice. If you will be playing at a resolution higher than 1080p, then you should consider a dedicated graphics card. If you ever feel like playing more demanding games, you can buy one of AMDs entry-level GPUs. With that combo you can run your computer in dual graphics mode, utilizing both the intergrated graphics on your CPU and your GPU at the same time. That is a powerful combo for entry-level pc gaming.
About the motherboard; look for a mobo using the FM2 chipset, otherwise the processor won't fit. Amount of USB slots etc. does not matter. Just pick one with as many as you want. The only thing that makes a case and mobo not fit is the size of the whole motherboard (labelled as different sizes of "ATX")...

Motherboards have a lot of confusing features, but you can ignore most of them. Just go for the cheapest you can find that has as many USB ports as you want and a display output you can use.
P.S. don't worry about chosing Intel or AMD, Nvidia or AMD etc. Just go for the cheapest solution you can find that gives good enough performance. (AMD is usually better in low-budget computers like the one you are planning)
