So my gaming desktop was working a couple of weeks ago when i was playing dark souls 2. It was a smooth 60 fps as it should be (GTX 680 direct cu ii top and i7-3770k). I played south park stick of truth and its working fine. However, any other game i try is extremely slow and laggy, such as watch dogs, child of light, and dark souls 2 (recently). For example, while I was getting 60 fps in ds2 before, now it is 5 fps when im moving and when i am completely still it is only 26 fps. This is extremely worrying. Child of light is extremely unplayable and watch dogs is also hard to play (worked ok for a while). Recently my computer has been having some problems. For example, it suddenly just went dead on me. However, I am inclined to believe that this was due to a faulty UPS. Also I noticed one time that every few minutes my computer would stutter and my mouse would lag for 5 seconds. This was fixed upon restarting. However, another curious thing upon restarting was that I got the blue screen of death. Couldn't read what it said in time unfortunately (always catches me off guard). ANyway please help thanks!Q

First, check your components's temperatures (GPU, CPU); Then, if it's fine, do fresh OS install (you may have some malware or virus or...messed Windows :) ) . Next, if problem exists, check your HDD for errors, memory, motherboard, PSU...and so on.
