hi , im new to this site & overclocking my specs are,, mobo,, M5A78L-M/USB3 ... CPU,, fx6300 its clock speed is 3.5 i have oc'd it to 4.5 temps are fine using hyper 212 evo idle in the teens p95 it reaches 47deg max everything looks good but when using p95 the clock speed jumps around from 4.5 to 3.5 to 1.4 i dont know if this is normal or due to thermal throttling but temps are good i have c6, turbo , c&q disabled in bios my voltage is set to 1.4 my multiplier is 20.5 x 220 any help would be much appreciated ,, like i said im a noob!! no cores have failed temps are good just clock and voltage jumping around and stable is a solid 4.5 so i guess my oc isnt stable? have i missed settings or anything else i need to do , thanks in advice

No worries, you can always experiment to increase performance, I suggest writing down what your goor current settings are then go from there so you can fallback, same with a set up you like, jot down the settings , many OC this way, get it to a point, then drop back till they have more time to work and can pick up where they left off

thanks for your prompt reply :) another thing i have all these other settings set to auto,, cpu nb frequency , vddnb over voltage , load line calibration , ht link speed , ht over voltage,,, do i just leave these all set to auto,, thanks tradesman

thanks much appreciated ... gonna play around , i know this isnt the best mobo for overclocking ill be upgrading soon maybe something with uefi to make thing a bit simpler thanks bud :)

must be rich... lol i think a new intel rig may be on the cards next year not sure yet gonna play with this for a while its speedy enough added a SSD and it turned into a rocketship along with the R9 270X 4gig edition its not a bad machine for my first ever build
