Is 3.6 ghz too much for an amd a4 a3400?

(Sorry for bad english,not my first language). i am trying to overclock my amd a4 3400 from 2.7 ghz to 3.6 ghz and i was wondering if it was too much.
My system specs are:
A75F-A Motherboard
4G ram
Amd radeon r7 250 GPU

If its not stable (and it was at stock speed) then yes - its too much.
You did not list which aftermarket cpu cooler you are using. If you dont have one then please do not overclock. The stock cooler is not good enough for even a modest overclock.


Depends on your CPU and cooling. It's possible others may have OC'd one that far, but not all CPU's are equal. Step the speed up little by little and test each step for stability and monitor temps closely. If it gets too hot or becomes unstable, back it down to where it was good.

I OC'd a processor that many said online that they have taken to 4ghz, but the one I had wouldn't go beyond 3.6 before becoming unstable, despite temps being on the cooler side. (Mine was a Pentium D 945 3.4ghz with limited OC options in the BIOS)
