Hey everyone, I frequent Toms Hardware quit a bit and I wanted some personal help.

I'm going to attach pictures of my case and programs I use to moniter the temps.

I have one front fan bringing air in and one fan in the back bring air out, i also have one fan on top with fins opened and i also have a fan on the side panel thats not connected because theres not enough fan connectors.

I do have quite a bit of dust and I'm waiting to get some canned air because its quite expensive.
I live in colorado so most houses here in Denver dont have AC and its getting to be a hot summer and the ambient temperatures are a little hot indoors with fans running so I'm aware that it might influence it a bit.

The temps in the pictures are IDLE temps.
My GPU gets to 99c when playing ACIII and other games while my CPU stays around 60-65c.
I am worried that my components might fry, so I took a step to do some cable managment and I might not have done very well but it looks like there should be okay enough circulation and air flow inside the case.

The case is a ThorV2
GPU : Nvidia GTX 660(non ti)
CPU : AMD FX-6300
MOBO : ASRock 970 EXTREME4 AM3+
RAM : G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB)
PSU : 600watt
HDD : 1TB Seagate 7200

I use EVGA precision X to make a custom fan curve thats if the temp is 50c the fan is 60% and so on. Also the GTX 660 fan is limited to 74%
I plan on getting a 212 evo cooler for my fx-6300 as it runs a little hot on the stock cooler and I'm stumped on the gpu as far as cleaning the exhaust and fans with canned air.
Any advice? Thermal paste?

Solution
First - clean out your gpu. Remove it and blow it out with air.

Next - make sure its getting air from outside the case being blown over it.

But 43C won't harm it. Just don't let is get over 80C and it should survive. If it starts getting that hot, start thinking about a replacement.

Perhaps I should explain more, the core temp picture displays my cpu cores and at the bottom is the current temp, the max, and the minimum.
Also on speed fan, the cpu is Temp3. I plan on getting a 212 EVO.
My GTX 660 is the EVGA OC 2GB edition, and I know its supposed to get a bit toasty, but surely it shouldnt reach 100c when I play Assassins Creed III like it does.

The idle temp in the day time is around high 30s to mid 40s since its starting to get hotter here and all I have is one fan in the window drawing in warmish air.
I think the cpu fans run at 900rpm, somewhere near there. Also I will update the thread with more information as I explored my case yesterday.
As I explained, I would add another intake fan in the front but my motherboard only allows 3 chassis fans and 1 cpu fan.
I'm currently exploring options for a motherboard that supports an intel cpu and 4 chassis fans. Unless there is a way I can hook up another fan to the motherboard that I dont know of?

Last night, I took my FX-6300s stock cooler off the mantle and inspected it, the thermal paste on the cpu is practically dust around the edges and dust has spread around the cpu casing, so when I get some compressed air I will be sure to clean that up. When I purchase the new 212 EVO cooler should I buy aftermarket thermal paste or will it come with good enough paste?

On cleaning of the heatsink (through blowing from my mouth for a good 5 minutes) I managed to clean it up pretty well enough to see through the sides of the heatsink. I managed to clear 2 or 3 dust bunnies collected ontop and inside the heatsink and fan but I will wait to do the rest at a later time.

Also I feel that I should attempt to manage my cables a bit more this weekend when I have enough time and when the temperatures drop in the mid day.

Temp 3 - case temp or junction temp? (58C) The cpu fan speed needs raising. what's Vcore?

Precision shows 43C for the 660. But the fan is running at 50%. Is inside the case and cpu and gpu coolers nice and clean?

Can you download and run HWInfo - Sensors and give me the psu voltages - 12v, 5v and 3.3v?

What make and model psu?

Temp 3 is the junction temp I believe, the fan runs at 3000rpms not 900 as I said before.
I ramped up the fans in BIOS to 1.50 PWM every degree for CPU and Fan 1 to see if that would help.
The fan runs at 50% because of the fan curve, so the fan runs 10% more than the temperature.
The case itself is a bit dusty at the moment
I can download HWinfo
I believe those voltages are correct last time I was in BIOS, I'll confirm in a bit.

EDIT :

Is this what you want?

I don't know much about voltages, but are they supposed to go over and be under what you said?

The 212 is exactly what I was going to get, do you have any suggestions to keep my gpu cooler? Still havent tried cleaning it yet, but is there anything else I could do in case that doesn't work?
I'm also going to get an AC unit for my window at some point in time.
I appreciate the help, I'm going to leave the answer blank for a while until I fix everything, if I shall need something else I will ask you.

It sits around 40c in the mid day hits at 65c steadily when watching netflix and anything more demanding than watch a simple video is over 65c.
It reaches high 80s low 90s (it has reached 100c in assassins creed III) easily around 2 or 3 minutes into pretty much any game.
Lowering AA and Antistropic Filtering helps a little but not much.
Getting canned air this thursday/friday.
Pretty much my only hope, since I cant get a new GPU until christmas.

Its 95F where I live right now with all the windows open and a few fans on.
I can barely stand the heat as it is right now, even with the computer fans blowing out the hot air making it worse on me lol.

When under load the clock is 1045 and around 1200 boosted (which rarely occurs) then downclocks to 324mhz on idle
voltage is 1087 under load and downclocks to 887 on idle
memory clock is 3005 under load and 324 on idle.
and the RPM is usually at 3550rpm (70% speed) then drops to 2300rpm at 50% fan speed

currently my GPU (45c) is cooler than my CPU (50c) at idle and I have no idea why, because there isnt any background tasks going on.
also the fx-6300 has a turbo boost feature that is on by default to boost the clocks from 3.5 to 4.1 but it only reaches 3.8 and it goes from 3.5 to 3.8 every 5 seconds over and over.
I tried turning it off but it seems to make my GPU hotter, is it because if I downclock it bottlenecks the GTX 660? And if I overclock my cpu to a stable 4.0 with the aftermarket cooler will it
decrease the temps on the gpu?

I took the heatsink and fan off a couple of days go, cleaned it as best as I could and it looks clear of dust, spent about 20 minutes putting it back on because it has latches that I couldnt catch onto.
Do aftermarket heat sinks usually come with thermal paste? If not any suggestions on what kind I should get?
And before I apply more should I remove the old? How would I do that?

I'm happy to say that after using the canned air I am seeing some pretty good results.
The idle temp is about the same around 40-50 but on load it only goes up to the high 60s and barely hits the high 70s.
I cleaned the entire inside, the gpu fan and i sprayed some air into the exhaust and its worked very well.
I feel very safe with these temps and I feel like I should go ahead and get the 212 in case I decide to overclock.
Thanks a bunch for all your help.
