Well, I've spent 4 hours trying multiple methods on fixing this problem. I am out of ideas.

So here's the situation. I got a great laptop for free. (HP Pavilion HDX9000 Series) The catch.... they removed the hard drives.

So. I have another laptop (Toshiba Satellite C655D-S5130) that I cannot charge because I lost the charger with a perfectly fine HDD in it. I remove the HDD and place it in the other laptop. In which case I received errors saying I cannot boot this device. Alright, so I just need to reinstall the OS.

I find a 4gb USB. I install/format the USB for a Windows 7 Home (The Toshiba's original OS) because I do not have the CD. So I get to the part where it asks if I want a custom installation or upgrade. Of course I picked custom. Now, this HDD I transferred was used with data and everything on it (Even the OS which was broken beyond repair, yes I tried the repair tool)

So I delete all the partitions as if it was a completely new drive. And here is where the problem comes in. "Windows cannot be installed on this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computers BIOS menu."

From what I researched... It's because the motherboard doesn't have the right driver to run this. I cannot change anything in BIOS other than boot priority. So cross out any solutions that require me to change IDE or RAID etc.... I do not have the option.

I do have an option on the "Where do you want to install windows?" box. I can load drivers. I do not have anymore USB's, just the 4gb one. No disks. No money to buy anything with. Nothing. I do have a fully functional Windows 8.1 Desktop that I can work on. (http://pcpartpicker.com/b/LNXLrH)

Anyways, does anyone have any solutions to this problem? If I'm correct. I have just enough space on the USB to fit a driver. So if that's the solution, let me know what to download and ill put it on the USB and load the driver. Thanks.

Also I'm on a tight schedule, so if I could get answers before Tuesday, that would help a lot. Thanks again.
