Hi,

so, as the title suggests, I need help on a couple of issues regarding my 'Palit GeForce GTX 750 StormX OC 1GB' graphics card. look here

A) Is it worth overclocking this card for gaming performance? i.e. is there a considerable performance increase to merit the possible loss in life span?

If so ....
B) is thundermaster (palits stock overclocking software) good/easy enough for the job? or would there be an easier program?

C) any recommended settings? obviously not too much to damage the card in the long run

below are my specs

CPU: Intel Core i5 4670
Operating System: windows 8.1 64 bit
Motherboard: Gigabyte H87M-HD3
RAM: 8GB DDR3 1660mhz (2x4GB)
Graphics card: Palit GeForce GTX 750 StormX OC 1GB
Monitors: LG 21.5" 22EN33S-B LED (1080p and D-SUB only)
PSU: 500W PSU

note: at the moment gaming performance is OK but i am looking to get some more graphic intensive games - gta 4 is the most intensive at the moment.

also I heard that my card is good for overclocking? is this true?

Thanks,

Solution
A) Yes, IMHO.

B) It's good enough, but I would recommend MSI Afterburner.

C) Try to keep the temps below 75C and you'll be fine. Any settings that can achieve this are OK.

Your card is good for overclocking because it has such a low TDP; Low power consumption = less heat to worry about.

thats pretty good then.

so how do you suggest I go about overclocking?

I have installed MSI afterburner

do I just increase the core clock speed or is there more that can be acheived with other options

Increase core clock by a little and run something graphically intensive (like Unigine Heaven benchmark). If you start to experience crashes or graphical glitches/artifacts, increase the voltage. Do that until your temps are at the levels you don't want to go over.
