I am getting a Dell Precision T7400 system. I am wondering if the PERC 6/I RAID Controller w/256MB cache and battery will work with this system.

More about : perc raid controller 256mb cache battery

As long as there is an available PCIe slot for the card, no reason why it shouldn't.

it should work, but it is not a hardware RAID card
Note: Work and high performance is different :-)

Huh?! if I read the specs correctly, the PERC 6i uses the LSI MegaRAID 1078 controller and is fully hardware RAID.

Also, in reading around, Dell has certified the PERC 6i for their workstations. There will be no issues using the PERC 6i in the Dell T7400.

Where did you see Dell and/or LSI claim LSI MegaRAID 1078 is fully hardware RAID?

Dell has certified the PERC 6i for their workstations, does not mean it's FULLY hardware RAID :-)

Fully HARDWARE always spec out the IO processor, without it. It's hardware assist just like RR27xx/RR23xx series of High point card

The LSI MeagaRAID 1078 chipset, which is used in the Dell PERC 6 series of RAID controllers...
