I was doing a daily routine on my computer when it suddenly sounded out knocking sounds from inside the case. There's a two second pause between each knock.
This may sound weird, but every night after I take a shower, I use my wet towel to wipe out the oils from my mouse, keyboard, and headphones. When I clean my keyboard, I open up WordPad (to avoid shortcuts or whatever from activating) and simply rub my towel on my keys. After I cleaned my keyboard, it started making the knocking sounds. I highly doubt that this is the cause, but the coincidence is questionable.
I immediately shut off my computer through the power switch. When I turned it back on, it sounded out two more knocks, and finally stopped. It's hard to believe that it's coming from the hard drive, although it did sound like it was coming from there. My PC was first built about six weeks ago, with a new hard drive. I may have been using it with only 300-400 GB of space left out of 1 TB, but it can't just fail that fast.
