Whats the difference between the Intel 4th Generation Core i3 and the Intel 3rd Generation Core i3 ?

Whats the difference & better between the Intel 4th Generation Core i3 & the Intel 3rd Generation Core i3 ? im looking at the HP - Pavilion 17.3" Laptop - 4GB Memory - 750GB Hard Drive , But one has the Intel 4th Generation Core i3 and its $ 399.99 & The other one has the Intel 3rd Generation Core i3 Which is $379.99 same laptop just different intel generation...

As everyone else said the difference will pretty much be nothing. It's not lik you are going from extreme's like an old P4 mobile to a third/fourth gen I3. Also as said the price difference isn't tha great either so you might as well just go with the newer 4th generation.

Very little performance wise, but there were some good power enhancements that might make the 4th gen one last longer on battery. This especially if you will be using it mostly for e-mail, web, or other low usage scenarios.

with intel i3 third generation you can get performance equivalent to i5. it also gives a good battery backup i am having 4-5 hours of battery backup while not playing games since games consume lots of battery. battery issues are with intel i5 and i7 but not with i3.
