From my research I believe you have an express card slot making you able to have an external graphics card. Vi dock makes one, it's a little expensive or you can DIY and make one with pe4h kit and buy a graphics card and power supply

This is false.

You can change the GPU on some laptops, even some made as far back as 2008. The Dell m6300 had a custom interface and could handle the nVidia Quadro FX 1600m, FX 3600m (and other various other options like a Radeon x1300) and any of the Dell machines E1705/9400/M1710/M90/M6300 could interchange cards using the Dell proprietary adapter.
AlienWare and some other manufacturers set up the MXM compatable graphics standard in some few years back and many laptops can upgrade their graphics if it has a MXM slot. Dell workstations (6600, 6700, 4600, etc) and Alienware all have MXM slots.
