i have recently bought a desktop that has a Nvidia GT 620 graphics card wih 1 VGA and 1 Displayport connection. I have 2 Viewsonic monitors with VGA and i have an adapter to connect the VGA to the display port connection. the monitor with the display port does not even recognise a signal most of the time. when the computer recognizes the monitor it still will not display anything on the screen. i have contacted Lenovo who i bought it from and they directed me here

http://support.lenovo.com/en_AU/downloads/detail.page?D...

however i have followed their directions including changing my BIOS but it is still not working. any help would be much appreciated

What adapter do you have? Try updating the drivers for the video card from nVidia.

Could be the adapter, you can either try a different one, test yours with another computer, or simply get a newer monitor with a display port connection. While the new monitor may be more money, it should be a 100% fix for the issue, unless the display port connection is bad on the card. If you buy a better adapter, it may still not work with the monitor and you will need to return it.
