Hello once again. I had some problems recently with my PC. I don't really know what happened and it was all very out of the blue, but I turned on the computer and the screen was showing all kinds of weird colours. It said there was a problem with my NVidia 8800 GT Graphics Card (which a friend gave me a couple years back). I thought maybe one of the cables had gotten loose or something so I disconnected and reconnected both the VGA cable (my monitor uses VGA and not DVI) and the power cable, but it still had the same problem.
I turned on Windows the PC on again and it worked fine, but then suddenly there was a BSOD and now my primary 3.5" HDD doesn't work anymore. My secondary 2.5" one also has Windows installed on it, and that works, but it still has the problem with the screen looking really weird.
My PSU is not great, a 400W Maxtron, but I've used the PC for one-and-a-half years.
It's weird that my PC has a problem like this just when a friend of mine is in the States and I wanted to ask him to pick up a new PSU for me.
I don't know if any of you have advice on what the problem could be and if my GPU and HDD are completely shot or not. I read that sometimes it can be a problem with the DVI to VGA adapter, but I don't have a second one to try. I did try a second monitor, but it also showed the same weird colours.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
PS: I noticed that my graphics card has been running very hot. Although I never really took note of it before when it was working fine, so it may be just normal. I just thought it might be good to mention.
