Hi there, I have a desktop Advent SE1101 in right now and it WAS working.. I cleaned the whole system out as it was filthy, but all I removed was the fan/heatsink as it was so clogged up, it needed some extra attention. When I plugged everything back in I thought, hey presto, the fan is running quietly, we're all good. But, no display. Nada. My monitor says 'no signal' for a second and then hibernates. The monitor definitely works, the cable is fine, and anything I plug into the PC's USB ports lights up. There are no lights on the MoBo to light up, but the fan runs, the optical drive works etc. The system only has onboard graphics so I have nothing else to try.. is the MoBo buggered?

Thanks

Something you did went wrong or the motherboard is dead. Tough to know exactly since you had the system apart, you could have damaged something or not hooked something up properly. Go though the build again, if that does not fix things, try resetting the BIOS and reseat the RAM.

Check again if you connected both the mainboard and the CPU power supply. I had the same issue once, took me about an hour to find out that I forgot to connect the 4+4 EPS cable that powers the CPU.

If you're using a graphics card try running the video output from the mother board, in case your gpu died
