got my first ssd today, samsung evo 840, and was installing software for it when i saw a benchmark option, so clicked it and one resault seems not good.

what this random read, and does it matter, is that resault specially low?

also, any safe optimizations/tweaks you suggest i do to increase performance?
thanks in advance

Your results are actually good and normal.
Random read matters... a lot. That is what the os does 90% of the time.
But synthetic benchmarks do not tell the story you want to hear.
Most of what we do is one or two things at a time so response time at low queue depths is most important. Benchmarks typically do not show that. No matter, you are good.

As to "tweaks" do not bother. They are not worth the aggravation. Some were meant to conserve space or endurance which was important when a ssd cost $5 per gb, but not today.
Take the time to rerun your windows wei. That will insure that windows will recognize your evo as a ssd and disable defrag.
I would expect you to get 7.9 which is as good as it gets.
