So what I would like to know is, I've always been a PC player, but two years ago I moved to console; couldn't keep spending money like I was on PC upgrades. Plus my gaming rig died and I had to build a new one, so I just bought a X-360. Anyway, now I'm back to build a PC since I'm going to dedicate myself once more to gaming.
I don't stream nor anything like it (might do from time to time).

My question is, I can't be arssed spending more 150 euros or even 200 more in a GTX 770/80, so I'm definitely going for a R9 280x, thats the difference of prices between the three.

What I'm thinking to play is:
Arma 3;
DayZ SA;
Battlefield 4;
Watch Dogs;
And will return back to World of Warcraft WoD (not really next gen but new expansion so whatever).

My question is, and hopefully you will be able to light me up in the matter;
Should I go with an i5-4670k or a FX-8350. One of the two, already have them ordered, they are just waiting for me to say which I want, so guys, which one would get the best performance paired with the R9 280x. Which of the both CPU's can give me a solid performance in gaming with a constant FPS? Concidering pushing the graphics to Ultra settings at 1940 by 1080.

What would you advice me to buy? i5 or FX?

Will be adding 8gb either (1x8) or (2x4) - Which do you recommend? 1600mhz of course.

Would be extremelly grateful for your opinion. Thanks in advance!

2x 4GB for more performance (dual channel memory architecture).

Its usually i5-4670k vs FX-8320. Both cpus feature great price / performance relationship. Get your i5-4670k. Its a great cpu.

PS. Those are for overclockers. If you don't oc get this instead:

I'll OC it for sure, not at start but I will, I have already planned to adquire an Hyper 212 master thinking in OC it.

Another question, if I might, don't I lose performance for having both different CPU and GPU brands? Being one Intel(CPU) and the other AMD(GPU)?

No problem! As a matter of fact i5 + R9 280x are one of the best for 1080p gaming.

I'll play WoW, but I'll mostly play BF4 and Arma 3. So if those have better performance on AMD CPU I'd go for the AMD, thos from what I've read I5 will perform better in both BF/Arma and WoW is this correct?

And lets say I go for i5 and 280x, what Mobo do you guys recommend?

From what I've heard, and remember, BF4 is a toss up betwen the two CPUs, but Arma 3 still favors Intel.

Would recommend a Z97 board to go with your i5-4670k, if you choose to go with that CPU. Gives you the option to upgrade in the future, if you choose.

Thanks for the fast answer, I saw this one,
ASROCK Z97 PRO3 SKT 1150

But then again, doesn't seem to support the AMD R9 280x...
