I have two laptops and an ipad. One laptop, the one I'm on now and the ipad show the wireless connected and work fine, thus I can get on the internet & communicate with you.

The other laptop, shows the power button on, the wireless signal button on, but in the toolbar wireless is "red x'd out" and when I hover over it, it shows the troubleshooter option. I've tried several things and still no wireless or internet connection.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the three network adapters in Windows - wireless still doesn't work on that laptop.

I don't want to lose my connection on this laptop when trying to fix the other - what other things can I do to fix the wireless connection on the laptop that's not working without affecting the one laptop that is working?

What laptop, some like Acer have an on/off button on the keyboard so it shows that wireless is available, but you have to 'activate' or turn wireless on
