Good evening.
A few days ago i replaced my Gts 450 with MSI Gtx 770.
The airflow in my Coolermaster k380 case doesnt seem to do the job and my cpu temperatures rose about 10 degrees to a total of 71-75 during load and 45-48 during web browsing.I also installed all 3 possible additional 120mm fans.Bottom and side as intake and rear as exhaust.
I have a core i5 4570 which of course cant be overclocked, with the stock cooler and paste.

My question is, should i get an aftermarket cpu cooler or get a better case? Was thinking about getting a used Corsair obsidian 350D for 70 euros.

Solution

Just upgrade the cooler to a H60 or H80. Refurbished on newegg for about $46.

those temps aren't terrible, your cpu isn't in horrible danger however I would most likely recommend replacing it as those coolers they come with aren't so great, you can get a decent one for around $30 look at like a cooler master hyper 212 evo

Right now i got front bottom and side 120mm as intake and the rear as exhaust. Its possible that hot air is circulating.I ll go with water cooling and probably swap the side fan to exhaust.
The evo wont fit. its 4mm above my limit. it could fit but i ve read it would touch the side window.
Edit the heatsink is seated fine. About a month ago idle was 32 degrees and gaming wouldnt go above 50. Add 5 degrees due to ambient temperature rise. The rest is hot air from the new (a lot) hotter gpu.

That contact would cause a rattle probably.

Go refurbished Corsair. Same good quality, much gooder price.

EDIT: The amount of times that one springs a leak is like 2%. Never known anyone who has. I think the fluid is non-conductive now.

I feel like your looking at expensive solutions to something that can be really cheap. I run a $35 Silverstone AR01, and it keeps my 4.5ghz 4670k under 70C.

Why would he spend $60+ on a cooler made mostly for people to highly overclock.

Don't spend more than $30 or so.

Just to clear this up, closed loop water coolers are not just for people who "highly over clock". Lots of people use them.

Actually i picked what i could do right now, which was remove the sink, clear everything and apply an arctic paste that i already had sitting around.
I must say i really HATE plastic push pins. Right now im browsing with HW monitor fluctuating from 38-43 degrees and Asus AI suite 38 stable.
Its a big improvement over 50-52 browsing. The heatsink was properly attached. I knew stock paste wasnt good but i didnt expect it to have this much performance drop after only 2 months.
I also checked some air coolers and i think a Zalman cnps10x optima for 30€ (which actually fits my case) will do the job even in the 45 degree days of july.

Since there is no refurbished stuff available in greece i went with a new h55.
Cpu 50 degrees after one hour gaming. 25 degrees drop
Same scenario ....Gpu 65 degrees. 10-15 degrees drop.
Also the case sounded like a jet engine with the air cooler. Now its barely audible.
Tha air cooler would be cheaper but it would still be hotter and louder.Next time i think i shouldnt be puting a hot gpu in a 40 euro case.

Thanks for your help guys!
