was given a dell inspiron 5423 with crashed hard drive I have got a version of win 7 -64bit, but need recovery disk to instal

If you have a Windows 7 disk that you can legally use on that computer, you don't need recovery media. The recovery media will contain the same software, assuming the computer came with Windows 7. Otherwise, it will have what the computer came with.
If you really want the recovery media, check with Dell.
