Why will no wireless adapter work on my Desktop?

So i have a weird problem. i'm running an AMD FX 9370 with an EVGA 1300W power supply, Asus Crosshair V motherboard with 3 way Sli GTX 760's (got them off craigslist for 160 a piece) and obviously have tons of usb ports...but none of them will consistently power a USB network adapter. I'm on my 4th brand new adapter, both from really expensive ones and really cheap ones, and literally none of them work, trying them all in every different port(including the ones that power 2 3.0 TB Hard drives) I've even reinstalled windows to try to fix this problem, and NOTHING works. what could possibly be wrong? My tablet, laptop, cell phones,vita,psp,3ds, all get wifi perfectly fine with no dropped connections, and I have a Motorola Surfboard Extreme Docsis 2.0 modem/router. so what could possibly be causing this?!?

yes, I installed all the latest drivers for all of them, and even used CCleaner to uninstall to wipe the registry of leftover settings/any remnants of things that might cause incompatibility. I'll look into a PCIE adapter I guess, I just would love to know what's causing the problem, as it powers my hard drive without ever shutting off but the adapter cuts off all the time..they all do. in different ports.
