PSU: Important or not in my case?

For the past few days I've been planning and buying parts for an extremely tight budget build, now this is the first time in my 10+ years in computers that I'll have a fast one, well a much faster one compared to my current one anyway, now the parts i have so far are as follows:

Intel core 2 quad Q9300 2.5Ghz.

5gb DDR2 800Mhz RAM.

An OEM HP motherboard (only a few years old, i think).

400gb SATA Hard drive.

And so far that's it, BUT i have come to possibly thee hardest decision you'll ever have to make with a computer and that's the GPU.

Now at the moment i have a Palit GeForce® GT 520 2GB, which my dad is giving me but the only problem is, it's as people know, a low performing card and isn't a very good card card for gaming.

So because of that I'll need to get another card but i don't know which one. So far I've selected around about 4 cards that are in my budget:

Asus AMD Radeon HD 6670 1gb DDR5

GIGABYTE AMD R7 240 OC 2GB.

Gainward GeForce GT 640 1gb DDR5

A used GeForce GTX550Ti.

Now to the PSU, now i only have or will have about £55 left from the build and with that i could ideally do with a faster PSU as my current one is only a 250w but if i get one i won't have enough to spend on a decent graphics card.

So my question is.... Do you think it would be better if i, didn't get a PSU but got graphics card or should i get a PSU and leave the card till i had enough?.

I also feel i should mention that I'm an Android App developer and will also be using the computer for some minor 3D stuff as i want to create my first ever game.

Thank you.

i would defiantly get a quality PSU, and save up for a good GPU. start thinking about what you want in the long term and build towards that. you are not going to be able to get a very powerful GPU with a 250W PSU. also something to look into is your CPU, i am not sure how much your current CPU is going to limit your options with a new GPU.

Well that's what i was thinking because getting a PSU first then a GPU means that when i finally do get the money, I'll have a bit more to spend on a decent card, also i had a big problem today with one of my new 2gb RAM card, one of the chips has broken so i can't use it which means spending even more money on another card so there's a slim chance of getting a GPU now anyway
