I'm planning on upgrading my rig soon. This is what I want it to look like:

Amd fx-8350 4.0 ghz cpu
Sabertooth 990fx R2.0 mobo
DRR3 8 gigs of hyper x Ram
Two asus geforce gtx 760 2gig gpu's in sli format
750w pc power and cooling silencer MK III psu
A bluray drive
3 hdd hard drives
All in a full tower case with 2 200mm fans and one 140mm fan.

I have some questions:

1). Is a 750 watt psu big enough to power this unit efficiently?
2). Will I have problems with overheating with two cards installed?
3).Is it in fact worth it to sli two gtx 760s? Will the pros outweigh the cons?
4). Is there anything else I should consider before making this upgrade?
5). Any suggestions?

Thanks for the help!

Solution
1) Your looking at probably just over 600W...750 will leave your room for future upgrades.

2) As the others stated air flow is important. Here's a link just to get an idea in mind: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BaZJ2cJS6tM

3) Like the others stated, getting a powerful single card would be better; however,
The only way I'd suggest dual SLI is if one of cards is dedicated. (eg: one card handles all PhysX)

4/5) Considering your getting the Sabertooth r2.0 which has a 220W TDP, that leaves you a lot of room to overclock the AMD 8350 (probably get it close to 4.8/5.0Ghz) [someone else got more accurate prediction for that?].
...
If that's appealing to you, then I would also suggest you look into liquid cooling in addition to your fans...
1) Yes, provided it has all the necessary connectors.
2) I doubt it since you have a full tower case so your airflow should be OK.
3) Yes, if you already have one. If you don't have one and are planning to get them together, don't (IMHO of course). Always get the single most powerful card you can.
4) Make sure your PSU has the adequate connectors.

1.) yes a 750w psu will handle them perfectly
2.) there will be no problems if you got good airflow in your system
3.) do never sli two mid-range gpus. it's not worth it. and sli scaling is very very bad on amd.
4.) no you got nothing to consider
5.) get the r9 280x or r9 290 instead. it will deliver you awesome performance for the next years @1080p.

I already have one asus geforce gtx 760. Instead of just buying one more now to sli should I just save up and buy a higher end gtx like a gtx 780? If I did that what would I do with the gtx 760? Could I sell it somewhere?

If that is what you decide to do, you can of course sell just about anything in working condition...just a matter of how much you may or may not lose from re-selling... condition, packaging, etc..

Its really up to you considering the weighing options...

- 780 has more memory (3Gb) compared to the 760 (2Gb)
- Having two 760's will consume a lot more power
- Two 760's will perform slightly faster, but then again the memory issue will come into play at high resolutions .
- Also dealing with 2 cards can be a hassle sometimes to get things working properly

Pro's and con's to both. Just a matter of preference
