Just graduated high school and I have enough to purchase this beast. For the fans, I'm switching the blue LED that comes with the case for the purple LED fans I'm purchasing. Purple is love; purple is life.

Any comments/help/suggestions would be appreciated.

First off you're spending way too much money on case fans which will be pretty useless until you actually buy your case and you can see how many mounts it has. If you're going for a color scheme you could save some money and buy a light strip like the NZXT Hue that allows you to change colors. You could drop all that stuff and go for a 780TI setup like this:

Then with the difference you can add whatever monitor, keyboard and mouse you want.

Is this processor better than the i7 4770k? Just curious.

No, but you don't need an i7 for just gaming.

The xeon 1230v3 is an i7 without overclocking for around 250 if you really want the i7. Are you planning to sli or run two video cards.

Also why do you need 16gb of ram

Wasn't planning on SLI, but maybe in the future

16 gigs for future proof

They perform about identical, but the i5-4670K is cheaper and allows you to get the 780TI.

That's not going to make a PC future proof. There really isn't anything that will other than planning ahead of time for future upgrades and expansion.

So will 16GB really not benefit me more than 8GB? Because some games today recommend 8GB and I wanted to be sure I had room for a bit more, if that makes sense.

One thing, there's no such thing as future proof. The parts in your list, no matter how good they are, will be old news within months. The tech world moves fast. 16GB of RAM is overkill for gaming, especially when 8GB will do the trick, and DDR4 is right around the corner.

I'd go with the i5-4670k if you wish to overclock, and get a GTX 780 Ti. Otherwise, wait and get an i5-4690k and an 8xx series card.

Most games don't even take full use of 4GB of ram, so 8GB is all you need.

Exactly what I've been saying. I'm guessing there will probably be zero difference in performance between the 4670K and 4690K except for maybe improved Intel HD graphics and a slightly higher stock clock.
