So I started having a problem today with my windows and I've successfully related it to my graphics card, i'm gonna try to explain everything and hopefully you can help me out.
I have an HP laptop working on Intel HD 3000 and AMD radeon HD 5740 graphics cards. Today when I turned the laptop on, I can see the windows logo (windows 7) then after that and before the log in screen, I can hear the windows startup sound but cant see anything. I tried to go into safe mode and everything worked fine but when I go back to normal startup, same problem again. I went into safe mode and tried updating both drivers but same problem was there. I decided to disable the Intel graphics card and it worked fine and windows started up without any problem, but now i'm having problem setting up the ATI because the resolution is messed up, I can't get a resolution better than 1024 x 768 even though I used to be able to get a better one, now all the icons are large and I cant decrease their sizes. I tried to install the latest amd software but it can't install properly, it says everything is installed but when I try to find the exe, there is nothing related to amd. I tried to unistall everything related to AMD and install them again but same problem.

Any suggestions? Also, what do you think is the problem with the Intel graphics card? It only works till the point of the log in screen

Solution
There are a couple of things to do.
Disable the Intel card and log in using AMD one. Then install Driver Sweeper and remove both your AMD and Intel GRAPHICS drivers.
Restart.
Then intall the AMD one and boot (while the integrated GPU is disabled).
Tell the results.
I will vbe glad to help you further.
(If you have a laptop with Switchable Graphics please tell)
