Hi, I'm Jewel with Kingston Technical Suport and would like to offer our assistance. Our USB drives do not have a write protection setting built into them, but it is possible for it to be set through an operating system. If that is the case here is a walk thru on how to remove it using Command Prompt: http://techchannel.radioshack.com/remove-write-protecti...
If that does not work then there is something wrong with the drive that is preventing the computer from writing to it. We stand by our products and in that case can replace the drive under it's five year warranty. For further assistance, please call us at 1-800-435-0640 (USA and Canada only) M - F 6am - 6pm PT and I or another available Technician will assist you.

Thank you for selecting Kingston as your upgrade partner.

Hello Jewel!

I've tried to format as written in the link... "Can't format, the drive is writeprotected"
I have a DTL+G3 16GB pendrive. Is there anyway I can get rid of the password, I don't need it at all. I wasn't warned that it only operates with password and installing and etc. I want a quick flashdrive, nothing more. Is it possible or should I return it and buy another one?

Waiting for a reply, thank you very much!
Greg

Sorry for the late reply, the DTLPG3 should be formatted through the DT Launcher program. After entering your password you can right-click the DTLauncher Icon in your taskbar and in the options you can Format or Reset the drive.
