Product Key Recovery?

I have a slightly major problem: My HDD got corrupted and my PC lacks a physical product key. I got the "key" that Windows provided (XXXXX-OEM-XXXXX, not nearly long enough) the last time it booted before it blue screened again. It now will not boot (straight to blue screen), and I was wondering: Is there a way to recover it another way? Would Microsoft acknowledge the actual purchase I have and restore my license?

Summary: Cannot boot, have no COA sticker (custom-PC), and a Windows 7 Pro Trial that expires soon.

If you have another PC and an enclosure or dock, you can try plugging it in and using something like Magical Jelly Bean keyfinder to get the key from it. I've had it work on dying drives that wouldn't boot, since the drive doesn't have to actually make it through a boot, the keyfinder just has to be able to get into the registry for a second.

Using the alternate drive (Dual HDDs) with a stock Windows 7 Trial and running ProduKey and Jellybean has resulted in nothing. Unless I've done it wrong on both.
