Im going to build a new pc soon and i still cant decide which gpu i should get. I will be using 1080p tv for a while but i want to buy a monitor around october. I play games, and I want to try all new titles for 2014, 2015 and possibly 2016 on high/ultra settings at least at 1080p. Mostly i play Dayz, strategy games, football games/managers.

Like PSUs, it's not the brand name but the product line.

In my experience....

EVGA Classified = great, FTW mixed experiences, SC = avoid

Asus DCII .... ridiculously conservative overclock, but great cooler and solid overclocker.... until recently the best for water cooling

Gigabyte Windforce .... solid board, good cooling, very loud

MSI .... In the last year, vast improvement..... not that they were bad before. Looking at the hardwareinfo review below you'll see Asus finished 1st, MSI 2nd, EVGA...

The 770 will be fine, although if you can afford it, buy the 780. The 780 Ti is just overkill for 1080p. Getting back, the GTX770 can play almost every game on Ultra, but some will have 20-30s in fps.

The the GTX 780 will be fine. The 780 Ti is aimed at 4K gaming, IMHO.

Looking at the hardwareinfo review below you'll see Asus finished 1st, MSI 2nd, EVGA SC last which was pretty much the industry consensus. However, midstream, MSI retooled their line and the 902 MHz card in the review has been replaces with a new card at 954 MHz and that card kicks tail.... every bit the equal of the Asus card now.

This is confirmed by the review of the new 780 Ti which techpowerup did. Asus owned the 6xx generation with their DCII 670 TOP which garnered a 10.0 rating; the MSI 780 Ti didnt top it but they came danged close with a 9.9 and at $600 it's hard to not buy it when everyone else is $710+

9.9 MSI http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/MSI/GTX_780_Ti_Gaming/29.html
9.5 EVGA http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/EVGA/GTX_780_Ti_SC_ACX_Cooler/31.html
9.4 Asus http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/ASUS/GTX_780_Ti_Direct_Cu_II_OC/29.html

The shocking thing is that MSi did that with the new nVidia reference (Rev 2 ?) PCB which not only makes the card less expensive but makes getting water blocks a piece of cake.

If you're buying from Newegg, be sure to check out the MSI GTX 780 Ti Gaming Edition for $600 after rebate with a free copy of Watch Dogs. That's the best deal ever for a GTX 780 Ti (seriously, not even joking).

GRAB THAT!!!! $600 is a steal, i see these for $100 more elsewhere.
BTW, i am a EVGA fan but that price is too good to pass and MSI also makes killer cards
