Hello, I am building a new PC and I am trying to avoid having to completely reinstall Windows 7.

I am reusing my hard drive from a previous system which was an Intel i5 system.

I am going with an AMD APU, a10 7850k.

So, my question is, will I have to reinstall my Windows 7? How can I avoid doing that?

Thanks

Make a good backup or two of all your data, and make sure Win is up to date. The just install the drive and give it a try, going Intel to AMD or AMD to Intel I've had luck about 60+ % of the time - when Win loads it will examine the new hardware and try and load appropriate drivers to get you up and running from it's cache of drivers...then if it get's to Win, start updating all the latest mobo drivers from the mobo website (good idea to pre download all of them to a USB drive)...when that's done, next run a registry cleaner (wise has a good free version) and lastly, will probably have to re-activate Win. If it can't will have to reinstall from scratch

Would it be possible to load the amd drivers to a flash drive or external hard drive, and get it to work?
