Hey there,

I just bought the Gigabyte Windforce GTX 770 4GB DDR5. I went for 4GB VRAM cause Watch Dogs's official web recently said the game often uses 3GB of VRAM when in High settings! So I went for 4 as I couldn't find a 3GB one!

So how well my GPU is? I really wanna know! Almost bought in a hurry!

My other rigs:
CPU: i7 4770k
MoBo: G1.Sniper Z87
Ram: 8GB Corsair Vegance 1600mhz
PSU: 850 watt
Resolution: 1920 x 1080p

I love to play games at High/Ultra!

Yeah the card will do fine. I would have opted for the R9 290, but that is me. The GTX 770 will do just fine.

What PSU make/model do you have. That would be the only concern that I would have. I know the GTX 770 is pretty good on power, but if you have a crap PSU (not sure at this point in time if you do) I would consider getting a new quality one.

So is R9 290 4GB always ahead of GTX 770 4GB?

What I'm concerned about is, My GTX 770 4GB Windforce costs the same as R9 290 4GB! (At least in the market from where I bought) so I think I did the right thing or what? Or Should I have gone for the R9 290?

I like Nvidia mainly because its easy, good drivers and almost no issues at all!

So you think I did the right thing going for a 770 4GB instead of R9 290 4GB ?

Then you should be fine with that PSU. It is 80 PLUS Bronze certified and has 70A on the 12v rail.

So is R9 290 4GB always ahead of GTX 770 4GB?

The R9 290 is going to be better than the GTX 770. The R9 290 is closer to the GTX 780.

Here is Anand's Bench results from R9 290 vs. GTX 770

right now, you can think you made mistake bcoz in some games gtx 770 is behind the 290 but in watch dogs, gtx 770 will be the winner.

That is your option to do so. The GTX 770 isn't a bad option, but the R9 290 is good too. I wouldn't worry about the difference. It's more important that your happy with your choice. I would have went with the R9 290, but that is just my option.

Not 100% sure, but here's one review sample:

Another review of WD, but might have similar results.

290x vs. 780Ti, just for comparisons sake of AMD vs. Nvidia

yes that's also true.

My point is that 2 gb's extra RAM will help, but I don't think your going to out perform the 6 gb Titan or the 3 gb 780 Ti. I'm sure you'll get some improvements, but compared to the 290 it's a lot closer than was stated earlier.

So,

Overall Gaming Performance: R9 290 is ahead.
Watch Dogs: GTX 770 (Obvious because its Nvidia optimized).

So Should I return my card and Get the R9 290? Just bought yesterday so I hope they will take it back right? And give me an R9 290! As they are the same price there! (In that store)

Besides Watch Dogs, you will not get any performance boost in terms of 4GB VRAM. Point of discussion from all above is that which one GTX 770 4GB or R9 290. It is your call as both are good cards. If you would have read the reviews from my earlier post, it was clear that 770 of Gigabyte is closing in on 780 which in itself shows that card which you have purchased is a good one.
