What do you mean by 'Open'??
No, the drive does not have a transparent top.... that's just a pic on the site.
It's a good drive, but if you're investing in storage why go for just 1TB....??
It would be better to go for a higher capacity drive if the budget permits you to say 2 to 3TB.
