Hi Toms,

I am aware that there are multiple threads relating to the kernel-Power critical warring Event ID 41, Task 63, but I believe my situation is unique.

I have been experiencing random restarts, although almost exclusively when the system is not under stress. Sometime it restarts automatically with the message that the systems settings have been reset to default hit f2 to continue etc, sometimes restarts perfectly back to the OS, sometimes it requires a hard restart but boots to the OS perfectly, and sometimes it freezes in the OS. In event viewer I get the kernel-Power critical warring Event ID 41, Task 63 but all values are 0 in the details.

What is also interesting is that this problem has occurred in win 7/8/8.1 (I have activated windows) leading me to think it is hardware, also it has happened on two separate mobos.

It also restarts regardless of what mode my bios is set, for example in economy mode or standard.

I am lead to believe it is my PSU, but I have a TT 725w (only about 1 1/2 years old).

I have run a memory test and no problems.

That is the extent of my knowledge and ability. Please may someone help me identify a solution and if you require more info, would you be so kind as to explain how to obtain that info as well.

*update - I swapped out GPU and just had another crash*

Thank you in advance.

Hi first download speedfan as this is a free program to check all of your temps are correct also make sure the correct ram timings are in place so download cpu-z to confirm they both match in bios and your sticks but it's probably most likely your psu so if you have an old one from another pc then try that first but reset cmos before installing any new hardware as this will still show up in event logs and re configure bios to the correct settings thanks.
