Does a better power supply allow higher overclock?

Hey guys, I bought a new 850w power supply, my old one being 750w (but considered a very poor one, in which people have said I'm likely not getting even close to 750w out of it).

I was wondering if when I install the new PSU, will it allow me to overclock higher? With the 750w, I can get 4.2GHz stable. I was hoping to get around 4.5.

Yes it will overclock higher & be more stable, as it is a more reliable & efficient PSU.

The EVGA Supernova G2 850W will actually output most of it's wattage as amps on the 12v rails & is a true 850W unit. Unlike the Alpine 750W Quiet Silent PC Power Supply you have.

EVGA Supernova G2 850W = 70 amps on the 12v rail or 850W.

Alpine 750W Quiet Silent PC Power Supply = 38 amps on the 12v rail or 456W.

A 750W worth it's money would have 60 amps or more on the 12v rail.
