They were expected to be priced a little higher. There's no sense from a business perspective selling a better chip at the same prices as an older, slightly worse chip - the 4670k wouldn't get any sales.

the haswell refresh had very marginally price differences, proberly because demand was poor and intrest fairly low, but these are hyped cpus and i think us customers are going to get the short straw
