hardrive files dont show up oon any other computer only linux HELP

I recently put some films on to my external HDD using Linux what I did was move the films from my videos to my external HDD by just dropping them in to the window it said it was moving the films in to the folder afterwards I unmounted and then ejected the external HDD but when I plugged my external HDD in to my TV it showed the folders I put the films in but they both where empty can any one please help me

also I have tried the external HDD on a different TV and it still says there's nothing on the HDD

I'm guessing your TVs simply can't handle the formats you've used. Most don't support much more than H.264 or MPEG-4 in an MP4 container. Certainly no ISOs.

This isn't an issue with Linux (Windows would do the same thing), just that your TV simply doesn't support the encoder used.

You could try re-encoding them with something like Handbrake.

sorry i missed something out i have put loads of films on the HDD on it before using windows and they still show up on the tv its just the new films i have put on the HDD that dont show up and i thought i might have to install or do something to the films because its linux

yeah i have just checked they all are MPEG-4 VIDEO thats the old films aswell so im just confused sorry about all this

Basically I feel so stupid I chaged the names of the films and I forgot to put .mp4
