Could you please tell me how to put everything together once I get a new hard drive?
With dell xps 430 hard drive there are 2 confusing cables p3 and p5.

Just look at the connections on the existing drive and move them over to the new drive. If you are adding the second drive instead of replacing, same thing, look at the cables connected now and use the same type of cables to connect the new drive. There should only be one data and one power cable on the drive.
